We prioritize respondents facing deadlines. Your Answer can be prepared and filed within 24-48 hours. The Counterpetition and Mandatory Disclosures follow within 5-7 days.
Do I need a Counterpetition if I just want to respond?
If you're fine with everything your spouse requested, you only need an Answer. But if you want different terms—different custody, support, or property division—the Counterpetition puts YOUR requests on record. Most respondents benefit from filing both.
What happens after I file?
Your spouse will receive your Answer and Counterpetition. From there, you'll either negotiate a settlement or proceed to mediation and hearings. We offer à la carte services for each next step.
