Age of Majority
The age of majority is the age at which a child legally becomes an adult. In Florida, that age is 18, which is generally when a parent's child support obligation ends. Support can extend past 18 in limited situations, such as when a child is still in high school and expected to graduate before turning 19, or for a dependent child with a disability that began before adulthood.

Legal Definition
Under Florida law the age of majority is 18; child support ordinarily terminates at that age but may continue under F.S. §743.07(2) for a dependent in high school with reasonable graduation expectation before 19, or for an adult child with a pre-majority disability.
Example
His child support continued past the age of majority because the teen was still finishing high school.
